I picked this K5 up from a very nice guy, Tom,down in New York City in September, 2008. Since then I have basically been slowly (sometimes sub-sloth speed) working on it. The purchase price: $500!

Hey there, happened across your post on the k5 blazer tech site and figured i would keep up with you on here. I am swapping a guy my broke down car which is a 2002 Nissan Sentra with more problems than i want to spend time on for his 1987 K5 Blazer. The only problem with the blazer is that the transmission won’t shift out of first gear. He went playing and water filled the transmission from the dipstick tube. He has drained the trans and tried lucas trans fix and still doesn’t shift out of first gear. Can’t wait to get my hands on it, i am gonna check the vacuum modulator like you told a few people to check on the site. See where that takes me. Will keep you posted.
